12 Best Brock Purdy Rookie Cards to Collect

PSA 10 Value: $110

One of Panini’s flagship releases, Donruss Football is a widely-collected and -respected set among card collectors that comes with a fairly reasonable price tag. 

Brock Purdy’s 2022 Donruss rookie card is part of an early group of cards from his rookie season, showing him in a practice jersey and no pads, and is on the relatively cheaper side for a PSA 10. Snag his base rookie or one of many numbered parallels—either way it’s an excellent start to a Purdy collection.

PSA 10 Value: $90

Another early release, the 2022 Elite rookie card of Brock Purdy not only doesn’t show him in game day gear, but instead he’s rocking his NFL Combine garb. 

With 999 copies in existence giving collectors a sense of exclusivity, this card actually boasts an achievable price tag collectors can grab in either its base /999 form or one of many color, foil, and die-cut parallels.

PSA 10 Value: $175

Once again owning the crown as one of the most sought-after base rookie card for rising NFL stars, the Panini Prizm rookie card is one that typically holds its value over the years, if not increasing exponentially depending on that player’s career arc.

And while the jury is still out on Brock Purdy, despite his star being as bright as any young QB in the league, his base Prizm rookie is certainly on the rise in the marketplace as he continues to excel and shake loose that “Mr. Irrelevant” title.

PSA 10 Value: $125

If you’re in the market for a clean chrome rookie card, look no further than Panini Select that boasts four different sections within their tiered base set. The most affordable and easiest to find Brock Purdy rookie card out of Select is the Club Level section, featuring the most color and numbered parallels. 

Purdy also has a Field Level card in the base set that is a bit more rare and expensive, but if you’re looking for a budget-friendly card and an attractive investment, it’s the Club Level you’re after.

PSA 10 Value: $150

Love them or hate them, acetate cards are polarizing in the hobby community. Often not grading well because of their temperamental plastic and transparent design, Clearly Donruss is as fun a card to own as any.

Brock Purdy’s rookie card from 2022 Clearly Donruss is a slick looking card with the young QB in action sporting the 49ers red jersey, and while these cards might not be as high-end as others on the list, it’s the acetate finish that makes this one feel premium. 

PSA 10 Value: $850

They missed him with a base card in 2022 Panini Illusions, but rest assured they didn’t miss Brock Purdy with some ink in the set. With the base version of his autograph reaching 199 copies, there are also several color parallels that level up the rarity with fewer and fewer cards printed.

While his Illusions rookie auto isn’t the cheapest card on the market, it certainly is one of the cheaper options when taking into account the current state of Purdy’s rookie autograph.

PSA 10 Value: $2,000

Sure, a Brock Purdy rookie autograph out of 2022 Flawless would be a nice snag for any collection, but there is something about a rookie card with a gem actually embedded inside. In this case, no non-autographed card is better than the QB’s Ruby Gem rookie card numbered to only 20.

Flawless is a super premium product typically released near the end of the NFL season when collectors know who all the rookie chases are, so Purdy’s card was one collectors kept an eye out for. Tack on the Ruby gem to make it a 49ers color match, and there really aren’t too many slicker looking cards out there.

PSA 10 Value: $2,650

There is a reason that Panini Prizm is the gold standard of football rookie card collecting. Then when you slap an autograph on that same card it automatically becomes a prime choice for collectors to snag.

The Silver version of the Purdy rookie auto, with it’s unique eye appeal and relative scarcity, is perhaps the best investment option of the many other colors and parallels this same card is offered in.

PSA 10 Value: $1,300

Offering a bit of widespread availability on the secondhand market due to its visual appeal, Panini’s Mosaic set sports a laundry list of parallels, colors and autographs, both numbered and non-numbered, but there is just something to say about a team color match.

In this case, Brock Purdy’s Fusion Red & Yellow from ’22 Mosaic is an incredibly attractive card, even without a serial number. You’ll have to dive deep into your wallet to secure a PSA 10, but arguably none will look better in a collection than this. 

Estimated PSA 10 Value: $2,200

Originally issued as a redemption when 2022 Donruss Optic was released, to many collectors it was worth the wait. The “Rated Rookie” emblem coupled with the sticker autograph, even in its base variety, this card is one that collectors look to as a flagship card to own. 

As with many Panini products, this card can be found in upwards of 10 colored parallels, but with the white jersey and white background of the base card, not many look as clean as this one.

PSA 10 Value: $3,200

Making this list out of sheer coolness and scarcity is Brock Purdy’s Downtown case hit rookie card from 2022 Panini Donruss Optic. Using iconic cityscape designs for top veterans, rookies and past Super Bowl winners, the Downtown card is growing in popularity among collectors as the chase card to own.

Purdy’s version is half nautical, half California gold rush, nodding to the Bay Area where Purdy and the 49ers call home. Being a case hit card, the Downtown is not only a uniquely designed card but also carries a scarcity that drives the card up.

PSA 10 Value: $186,000

For the absolutely sheer insanity of what this card looks like and what this card sold for, the 2022 National Treasures Platinum Shield Patch Auto of Brock Purdy makes the list of his top rookie cards to own. 

Considering it’s a 1-of-1, an NFL Shield patch with on-card auto, and the card and auto were both graded a Gem Mint 10 by PSA, are we actually shocked it sold for $186,000? It’s an insane amount of money, but we can only hope it now resides in a good home.
