PWE (Plain White Envelope) Shipping

About 80% of my eBay sales are from sending through what eBay calls their “eBay Standard Envelope” – to which I always send a PWE.

Many are skeptical to send this way, but I’ve had almost no issues with several hundred transactions. I’ve had 2 problems, and both were because I tried to send (very cheap) memorabilia cards this way. They’re just too thick. Stay away from those, and you’re good.

Here’s what I use for every one of my PWE shipments:

Beckett Shield Team Bags on Amazon – Each card is put in a penny sleeve, toploader, and then into a team bag. I then slip 1-2 common cards on each side of the team bag for added protection. Folding over and sealing the bag tight keeps the card from slipping out of the toploader.

Self-Seal Envelopes on Amazon – These are cheap and do the job. And because licking envelopes is terrible. Stick your team bag with sold card into the envelope and push to one side.

ScotchBlue Painter’s tape on Amazon – Do not…I repeat DO NOT use scotch tape directly on the toploader, team bag, or anywhere near the card! It’s obnoxious and you’ll get annoyed buyers who leave poor reviews. Simply rip off a small piece of this painter’s tape and affix the team bag inside the envelope so it doesn’t shuffle around.

Scotch Tape on Amazon – I irrationally love this product on Amazon. The dispenser is small yet durable, and it comes with A BUNCH of replacement tape rolls. Couldn’t recommend this higher. You’ll use this to tape the shipping label on the front of your envelope.

Bubble Mailer Shipping

Most of my singles that are worth $10+ in value are going in a bubble mailer, shipped First Class through eBay.

Bubble Pouches on Amazon – These give added protection and more peace of mind to the seller. Sure, a bubble pouch inside a bubble mailer seems like overkill to some, but these things are dirt cheap and have enough friction that they don’t really slide around inside the bubble mailer. Put your toploader in it surrounded with commons.

Bubble Mailers on Amazon – I like these ones. They’re large enough to handle what I need, protect the card well, and I can still fit thinner cards (even a slabbed card) into my mail slot. And the white paper pops on the black 🙂

Box Shipping

Whether you’re sending a really expensive card, a card lot, or sending into get graded (most want you to ship in a box rather than a bubble mailer, sending in boxes is a great way for the most protection!

Packing Tape on Amazon – Honestly, I reuse boxes when people ship to me (thanks Target and Amazon) and even reuse their packaging materials. So the only thing I use for box shipping that I haven’t mentioned on this page yet is packing tape!
