From a hobby perspective, Trevor Lawrence was likely the most hyped prospect ever. With the college resume, as well as the physical and intangible traits to back it up, his rookies became highly sought after.
But which ones are the best to collect?
We can look at “best” from a PC (personal collection) or investing point of view.
What we won’t do is look at strictly base cards (minus one exception). That’s not where the hobby is headed.
12 Best Trevor Lawrence Rookie Cards
Including these is a mix of desirability, value, and eye appeal. I did put in one uber-expensive one, just for fun.
1. 2021 Panini Prizm Silver #331
PSA 10 Value: $3,500
Let’s start with the most coveted mainstream card—the silver prizms! I’d argue that silver prizms are the flagship rookie card in all of the hobby.
Even color prizms that are more rare often sell for less than the silver In other words, when people open a box of prizm, they’re generally looking for those silvers!
Sure, the PSA 10 value on this card puts it out of reach for many collectors, you can still grab a PSA 9 for under $400.
2. 2021 Panini Mosaic Genesis #301
PSA 9 Value: $450
Mosaic is considered to be in the upper tier of the mass-produced sets. It has some of the best inserts and parallels, and Genesis is the best combination of not-too-rare but still valuable—making it perhaps the big chase in the set.
If you haven’t seen one of these in real life, then you can’t totally appreciate it! When you combine one of the most sought after parallels in the industry with Trevor Lawrence, you get a valuable card that collectors of his must have.
3. 2021 Panini Absolute Kaboom! #K41
PSA 9 Value: $1,750
It speaks to the power of Kabooms that they single-handedly make Absolute a sought-after brand. Their rookies don’t really hold values (you can get his base rookies for a buck or two), and they don’t have much in the way of recognizable parallels or inserts.
But, the Kabooms are perhaps the most popular inserts in the hobby. It’s a beautiful, well-designed card with flashy elements that really pop. The comic book font adds more to this card, making it one of the best cards to collect anywhere—as evidenced by its high price tag.
4. 2020 Select XRC Prizm #401
PSA 10 Value: $1,000
If you’re not familiar with XRC, these are redemption cards that you can pull for players who haven’t been drafted yet!
The redemption will be for a certain draft position like “RB5” for the fifth running back taken in the draft. Obviously, a QB1 redemption would have netted you Trevor Lawrence. You send these cards in, and once the draft has taken place, Panini can produce them and send them out.
These cards are loved because they’re among the first cards you can grab for a player (especially in a pro uniform) and they look great.
5. 2021 Panini Prizm #331
PSA 10 Value: $275
I know, I know…it’s base. But it’s Prizm base! Generally considered the flagship rookie, Prizm rookies carry their value the best (besides the upper, upper tier products).
The fact that this card sells for $300 tells you all you need to know. If you’re a collector without a huge budget, you can’t go wrong adding this one to your collection.
6. 2021 National Treasures Rookie Patch Auto #156 /99
PSA 9 Value: $12,500
Let’s have some fun! Of course, only the collectors with the deepest pockets are going after this beauty. The National Treasures RPAs are legendary for their quality, making this a grail card for Trevor Lawrence collectors.
Of course, the patch is game-worn, the auto is on-card, and it’s numbered…and just beautiful. If you get a chance to even just see one of these in person, you’re lucky.
7. 2021 Panini Contenders Auto #101
PSA 9 Value: $1,200
While Contenders itself isn’t generally considered a top product, their autographs are some of the nicer in the hobby. It’s not National Treasures, but it’s still a good-looking card (most people really like the “ticket” look) with an on-card auto.
You can find cheaper autos on the market, but few are more widely beloved than these.
8. 2021 Certified #101 /399
PSA 9 value: $45
This may come down to personal preference (you either like Certified or you don’t). However, I think it’s one of the more overlooked products out there, with glossy cards and high quality look to them.
The real winner here is getting a numbered rookie card for less than $50!
9. 2021 Panini Obsidian #101
PSA 10 Value: $290
2021 Obsidian hobby boxes only contained 7 cards, with 4 autos, 2 parallels or inserts, and 1 base card! In other words, there aren’t a lot of these puppies floating around. That being said, you can grab a raw version of this card for around $20. The black edges grade poorly, which is why the PSA 10 shoots up in value.
But it’s obvious why this card is on this list—just look at it! Obsidian cards are spectacular, with the etched chrome against a dark background. Every T-Law collector should have this.
10. 2021 Panini Origins #101 Variation
PSA 9: $25
This list needs cards for every type of collector, and this is perhaps his best “low budget” card. Lawrence throwing the ball against a white painted background slowly giving way into the Jaguar blue-green is stunning.
These things sell raw for under $10, and even a PSA 9 sets you back the price of a lunch for two. This is a head-turner without breaking the bank.
11. 2021 Select Red & Yellow Die-Cut #143
PSA 10: $150
Here’s another card on the lower end of the price spectrum that carries incredible eye appeal. First, you get the Select brand. Many consider this second only to Prizm in the mass-produced sets. Then, you get the beautiful parallel (Select always does a good job on these).
Oh, and it’s die cut? Sure, that makes them harder to grade, but overall, this is a card that isn’t expensive but will have others admiring with envy.
12. 2021 Prizm Red Ice #331
PSA 10: $450
Yep, this is the third Prizm card on this list! After the base and the silver, the cracked ice parallels are perhaps the most popular. The red version especially does the job well, even though it’s not a match to his jersey.
This valuable rookie parallel is almost guaranteed to hold its value for the long haul, and provide you an exceptional card to look at.
